Community Service...
Here is something everyone connected with the Hot Flash can do to help out. Go to AnySoldier.com and find out what you can do. There are many soldiers serving overseas that need basic hygiene items, morale boosters, and little gifts that they can give to local children. The site is simple to navigate; just click on a soldier's name and you can read a note from them that describes their situation and tells you what they need or want. Sometimes, it's just a letter; sometimes, necessities. The address to which you should send the package is also given.

Tip of the Week...
(or whenever I get around to it...why don't YOU send me something?)
BIKE SPRINTS
Here's a great exercise for hockey players. This works the endurance system that players need for those short, hard shifts. Most of us have access to a stationary bike. This only takes 10 minutes of your day. Start pedaling and when the time gets to 1:00, go as hard as you can for 8 seconds. Coast slowly til 2:00 and repeat til you've done it 10 times.

Our previous tips of the week (with links) are listed here.

New players click here to check out our page for those of you scrimmaging for the first few times.

Aesthetic Dental Solutions (Sam's business) has very generously offered to make free mouthguards for Hot Flash players. Only the ladies who are playing in the tournaments are eligible for free mouthguards. If anyone has a question about their eligibility, please get in touch with Sam before you make an appointment.  There will be no charge to you for the appointment or the mouthguard - it's part of a sponsorship deal.  The mouthguards are professionally made and they fit so well that you can speak and breathe with them in.  They also protect against tooth breakage and concussion, which is important even if you wear a full cage or a combo shield.  Sam will bring your finished mouthguard to you at practice when she gets them done.  The mouthguards will be clear.  If you play in another league that requires colored mouthguards, let me know by email and I'll take care of it. If you have any questions, call or email Samantha. All appointments for mouthguards are now to be made with her directly. You can call her or email her and set up a time.  The impressions will be taken in Lexington at Dr. Celeste Springer's office by Sam.  The office address is 1283 North Lake Drive, Lexington.

All Hot Flash players must be members of USA Hockey, and at least 15 years old.
